How to get to Chiaia from Naples Capodichino airport
Capodichino is about 6.8 km from Chiaia. The options are a taxi on a fixed airport fare, a pre-booked private transfer, or the Alibus into the centre with a short onward leg. A taxi takes twenty to thirty minutes.
Naples Capodichino sits unusually close to the city, roughly 6.8 kilometres from Chiaia. That is an advantage, though urban traffic gives back some of the distance saved.
Taxi
The most direct option and the one that makes sense with luggage. Naples applies fixed predetermined fares between the airport and the main city destinations, so the price does not move with traffic.
Agree the fixed fare before setting off and state your exact destination. If the meter is started without you having asked for the fixed rate, the final amount can differ.
Real journey time: twenty minutes in good conditions, thirty or more at peak hours and on Friday afternoons.
Alibus
The dedicated public link between the airport and the city, stopping in the centre and at the port. It is inexpensive and reliable on timing, but it does not reach Chiaia, so you will need a short taxi ride or walk at the end.
