What to ask a property before booking in Naples

Most holiday problems come from information nobody asked for and nobody gave. Five questions asked beforehand solve almost all of them.

1. How check in works

The leading cause of difficult arrivals. Ask: what time you can get in, who hands over the keys, what happens if the flight is delayed, whether self check in exists and how it works.

Many Naples properties have no reception, so arrival time needs agreeing rather than improvising.

2. What the rate includes

Final cleaning, linen, utilities, tourist tax. Some items appear at payment and others on site, and the difference on the total can be substantial.

Also ask what costs extra: mid-stay cleaning, a cot, out of hours check in, parking.

3. Whether parking exists and on what terms

Arriving by car, this is the decisive question. Knowing parking exists is not enough. You need to know whether it is covered, whether the space is guaranteed, the maximum entrance height, whether it is included or charged, and whether it is accessible at any hour.

4. How many bathrooms, not how many beds

Guest capacity is the figure booking sites display. The bathroom count is what determines how a morning goes with six people.

Also ask how many of the beds are sofa beds, because it changes the sleep quality of whoever ends up on them.

5. Whether the property is identifiable

Company name, VAT number, national identification code, a real address and a phone that answers. These are what separate an operator from a listing.

One rule

If a property answers these questions vaguely before you book, it will answer the same way when you have a problem during the stay.
