Where to stay in Naples with ten or more people without splitting up

Groups over eight almost always end up split across apartments in different buildings in Naples. The alternative is finding a property with several adjoining units inside the same building.

The problem for large groups in Naples is not finding space, it is finding it together. Large apartments in the centre are rare, and those that exist seldom go beyond six beds because they sit inside historic buildings with structural limits.

Three possible solutions, and what is wrong with each

Several apartments in different areas. This is what most booking sites offer when you search for ten people. It works on paper and falls apart immediately: separate breakfasts, mismatched schedules, constant travel between addresses, and whoever ends up furthest away feels left out.

A hotel with multiple rooms. This solves the logistics but removes the shared space. A group travelling together usually wants a kitchen and a table that seats ten, and hotel rooms do not provide that.

Multiple units in one building. This is the solution that actually works, and the hardest to find, because it requires a single operator controlling several adjoining units.

What to ask before booking

The right question is not how many beds, it is how they are distributed. Ten beds across three floors is not a group, it is three disconnected bookings.

Always ask: are the units on the same floor, do they share an entrance, is there common space where the group can gather, is check in handled once or separately for each unit.

The Chiaia case

On Vico Santa Maria a Cappella Vecchia the five units occupy a single floor, ranging from 45 to 90 square metres, totalling 325 square metres and up to eighteen beds. The group uses one entrance and stays on one level.

For groups of this size, booking direct is usually simpler, because it allows every unit to be held together and arrival times agreed in a single conversation.
