Work trips carry different requirements from leisure travel, and they are administrative requirements before they are comfort ones.

This is what most often blocks an expense claim. The property must be able to issue an invoice in the company’s name, with the correct VAT number and complete details.

Many short lets do not, or only do so on advance request. Verify it before booking, not at check out.

Connectivity

If you work from the accommodation, the connection is infrastructure. Ask for the connection type and real speed, not whether wifi exists.

Also check whether there is a genuine workspace, with a desk and chair, because eight hours at a dining table is felt.

Check in and timing

Work flights and trains rarely respect standard check in windows. Ask how entry works after 20:00, whether self check in exists, and whether luggage can be left before the entry time.

Beyond two weeks an apartment is almost always cheaper than a hotel, and the gap widens with more people.
